According to AG Matthew Paltkin, authorities received a distress call from Victoria G. Lee’s brother reporting that she was undergoing a mental health crisis and required immediate medical attention. The incident occurred at “The Pinnacle” apartments on Main Street at approximately 1:25 a.m. on Sunday, July 28. Police were promptly dispatched to the scene.
According to the caller, his sister, who is 26 years old, was in possession of a knife.
Upon arriving at the building, the responding officer engaged with the individual who made the 9-1-1 call in the hallway before proceeding to access the apartment. Upon entering, the officer was greeted by two females, one of whom was identified as Lee, the caller’s sister, according to Platkin.
According to Platkin, the females instructed the officer to refrain from entering the room and promptly shut the door. Despite his attempts to gain entry, the officer remained outside knocking on the door as his fellow colleagues arrived on the scene.
The officers breached the door when the occupants failed to comply.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident and no further details have been released at this time.
