On June 13, authorities apprehended two female suspects who were allegedly involved in a series of thefts at various CVS stores throughout the state. The incident occurred in Cullman, Alabama.
The Cullman Police Department has charged Rosanna Imelda Bita and Ana Maria Larisa Bita with two counts of organized retail theft. These two individuals are also facing multiple charges in various counties throughout Alabama.
According to a social media post by the CPD, two women stole merchandise worth around $4,330 from both CVS stores in Cullman on June 12, 2024. After gathering evidence, Investigators Watkins, Riddlesperger, and Sgt Higginbotham were able to determine that the same women had committed thefts in nearby areas as well. They obtained the license plate number and vehicle description and sent out a Regional BOLO to locate the vehicle.
According to the CPD, the suspects were detained after the Homewood Police Department located the vehicle on late June 13. CPD investigators then traveled to Homewood and arrested the suspects.
According to the post, authorities executed a search warrant on the suspect vehicle and discovered that the females had committed thefts at twelve different CVS stores in Alabama. It was determined that they had stolen merchandise worth around $34,300 during these thefts. The post further stated that a significant portion of the stolen property was retrieved from the suspect vehicle.
In a recent post, the Cullman Police Department expressed their gratitude towards the Homewood PD and other assisting agencies, along with the Cullman County District Attorney’s Office and District Attorney Champ Crocker for their assistance in a case. The post also commended all the officers and investigators involved in the arrest of two suspects, appreciating their hard work.
