During their altercation, a woman and her boyfriend engaged in a heated argument. Seeking safety for her two children, the woman decided to take them to the neighboring house where three brothers resided, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the police, it is unclear how well the men were acquainted with the woman. However, they were informed that the woman trusted them enough to seek their assistance.
Outside, the three brothers confronted the woman’s boyfriend when he arrived.
According to HCSO, the woman’s boyfriend took his own life when deputies arrived at the scene shortly after.
The investigators have reported that the two brothers, who tragically lost their lives, were aged in their 30s and 50s.
Deputies noted that this home had been the subject of previous law enforcement visits, as they observed the scene.
According to officials, a domestic violence incident had occurred between the woman and her boyfriend a few days prior, although specific details about the incident were scarce.
The identities of the victims have not been disclosed, but authorities have confirmed that the surviving brother, the woman, and her two children are safe and are fully cooperating with the authorities.
