A dramatic encounter unfolded in July when a store clerk bravely confronted an armed robbery suspect near downtown Houston.
The incident, captured on video, took place at a store on Elgin Street near Ennis Street around 3 a.m. on July 1. According to Houston police, the suspect approached the counter with a firearm and demanded cash from the register. The clerk attempted to disarm the suspect but was unable to wrest the weapon away.
After the struggle, the suspect abandoned the robbery attempt and fled the scene. Authorities have not confirmed if any money was stolen during the incident.
Police described the suspect as a young man between 18 and 25 years old, standing approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 160 to 180 pounds.
