A man in Montgomery County, Texas, has been hospitalized after being grazed by a bullet during a road rage shooting, according to authorities.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place in the 500 block of Sawdust Road.
According to authorities, a man opened fire on another man’s vehicle, firing multiple shots. During the incident, a bullet grazed another man’s ear, causing him non-life-threatening injuries. He was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment. It remains unclear whether the victim also retaliated by firing a weapon during the altercation.
The sheriff’s office stated that they have found all individuals involved in the incident and that they are fully cooperating with the investigation. They emphasized that this was an isolated incident between the two males, and no other suspects or victims are being sought.
Authorities were investigating the closure of all westbound lanes of Sawdust Rd. at Buddle Rd.
Detectives are currently conducting interviews with the parties involved and any witnesses, as authorities state. Additionally, they are thoroughly canvassing the area for video surveillance as part of their investigation.
During a press conference held after the incident, Lt. Scott Spencer of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office emphasized the significance of defusing road rage incidents to prevent similar outcomes.
It is currently unknown if anyone has been apprehended at this time.
