According to the FDA website, salmonella has the potential to cause severe and possibly fatal infections in vulnerable individuals, including young children, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems. Common symptoms of a salmonella infection include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. However, in rare cases, more severe illnesses such as arterial infections and endocarditis may occur.
If you have bought the product that has been recalled, it is advisable to discontinue its use immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a complete refund. As of July 12, there have been no reported cases of illnesses linked to the recall.
