A man has died, and authorities are searching for a suspect following a shooting Monday evening in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
According to Captain John Elder of the Robbinsdale Police Department, multiple reports of gunfire were received near Lowry and Indiana Avenues North shortly after 5 p.m. Moments later, a cell phone crash alert from the same area was detected.
Officers arrived to find a crashed vehicle with a man, believed to be in his mid-20s, in the driver’s seat suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital but later died.
Police believe the shooting was targeted, posing no threat to the public. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will confirm the man’s identity and the cause of death.
No arrests have been made so far. Robbinsdale detectives are collaborating with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office on the investigation.
Elder noted that this marks Robbinsdale’s first homicide of 2024.
