The Cincinnati Bengals are experiencing a unique offseason, with Ja’Marr Chase recently contributing to the excitement.
Joe Burrow’s favorite wide receiver decided to follow in his footsteps after a photo was shared online showing the quarterback sporting a new buzz cut for the upcoming 2024 NFL season.
Upon arriving at training camp on Tuesday, Ja’Marr Chase, the renowned wide receiver, was spotted at Paycor Stadium donning a buzz cut.
As the offseason progresses, it seems unlikely that Cincinnati Bengals’ wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase will receive a contract extension. Nevertheless, with the impressive numbers he has been consistently putting up, there is no doubt that he will receive a handsome paycheck.
In his first three seasons in the NFL, Chase, who was a first-round pick in the 2021 draft, has already made a name for himself as a Pro Bowl selection. He has even managed to break franchise records by gaining the most receiving yards in both a single game and a single season.
Despite the Bengals’ failure to make it to the playoffs last season due to quarterback Joe Burrow’s season-ending wrist injury, Ja’Marr Chase’s impressive performance earned him a well-deserved Pro Bowl recognition.
In the league, he accumulated 1,216 receiving yards, ranking as the 12th highest.
Bengals Owner Shuts Down Idea of Ja’Marr Chase Extension This Offseason
As we gear up for the 2024 season, it’s worth noting that Ja’marr Chase, the star wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, had hoped to secure a significant extension during the offseason. However, it seems that his desired deal did not come to fruition.
This offseason, Mike Brown, the owner of the Bengals, dismissed the idea of offering a new deal to Chase.
“It’s not so likely that this is the good time to negotiate,” Brown said, via Ben Baby of ESPN. “The offseason is a better time for that and we’re going to try to keep focused on the football part. I’m not going to rule anything out, but I will tell you that the die has probably been cast.”
Although Chase skipped the voluntary portion of the team’s off-season program, he made sure to attend the mandatory minicamp.
It seems that he will be present during the training camp.
After everything is said and done, it’s possible that Chase could end up with an even more lucrative contract than the one Justin Jefferson recently signed. The Minnesota Vikings offered Jefferson a four-year deal worth $140 million, and it’s possible that Chase’s contract could surpass that amount.
Furthermore, there is another interesting read regarding the woman who’s been accused of harassing Ja’Marr Chase and his mother. Apparently, she activated her Instagram account to respond to the allegations.
