According to court records, Patrick Mahomes Sr. is facing legal issues after encountering a second arrest in Texas this year. He is the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes.
In Smith County, Texas, the police arrested a 53-year-old ex-Major League Baseball pitcher on June 29 for driving with an invalid license. This unfortunate event took place just a few months after his previous arrest on charges of drunk driving in the same county.
Court documents reveal that Mahomes Sr. was cited at approximately 8:30 p.m. for driving without a legitimate license. Additionally, he was given a warning for failing to follow traffic signs, which implies that he may have committed a moving violation that resulted in the traffic stop.
It is not yet evident if Mahomes Sr.’s license status is linked to his previous DWI apprehension. However, he must appear before a judge by July 31 concerning his recent occurrence.
Mahomes Sr. is currently facing legal troubles on multiple fronts. He is awaiting trial for driving while intoxicated, with the proceedings set to begin later this month. In addition, he was recently arrested in June, further complicating his situation. Furthermore, a grand jury in Smith County indicted him on charges of “Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More” on March 28, which suggests that he has at least two prior convictions for similar offenses.
In the event of a conviction, Mahomes Sr. may be subject to significant repercussions. This charge has the potential to result in a maximum prison sentence of 10 years and a fine of up to $10,000.
As the new NFL season approaches, Patrick Mahomes II, the star quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs and two-time Super Bowl champion, is remaining silent amidst the legal troubles of his father, who has recently been arrested multiple times.
