Greenwood County officials are currently conducting a search for the killer of a woman whose body was discovered on the side of a road in South Carolina.
Kasia Dierra Simmons, a 38-year-old resident of Simpsonville, was found deceased on Wilson Creek Road at approximately 9:15 p.m. on June 12. The Greenwood County Coroner’s office responded to the scene to investigate.
The coroner’s office is currently investigating the death of Simmons as a homicide, as she appeared to have suffered from gunshot wounds.
According to the Greewood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies discovered her body while responding to a report of a shooting in the Pinehurst subdivision.
The sheriff’s office has reported that Simmons was in the company of an unidentified man before the shooting incident occurred. It is yet unclear whether this man is the prime suspect in the case.
Deputies are currently seeking information about individuals who were with Simmons before the shooting took place, in addition to conducting interviews with her family and friends.
The authorities are urging individuals who were present in the Pinehurst subdivision area between 7-9 p.m. on June 12 to immediately contact the sheriff’s office if they observed or heard any suspicious activity.
