BUFFALO, N.Y. — An arrest has been made in connection with a burglary that occurred earlier this month in the Old First Ward.
Steven Palistrant, 35, faces one felony count of burglary, one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief, and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.
The charges are related to a Dec. 2 incident at Gene McCarthy’s Old First Ward Brewing Company, where employees reported an overnight break-in. The intruder broke into the building, smashed a donation jar, and took approximately $200.
The donations were intended for the OFW Community Center Kids Christmas Party.
Palistrant was arrested Thursday without incident, according to a Buffalo Police statement.
“We have the alarm system, and it went off, and that’s when we found out we were broken into,” general manager Margo Kowal told 2 On Your Side earlier this month.
