If you’re looking for a charming and welcoming destination in Alabama, you can’t go wrong with a visit to Magnolia Springs. One of the main attractions is the stunning “tunnel of trees” located on Oak Street, which is sure to leave a lasting impression on visitors.
Magnolia Springs in Baldwin County has recently gained recognition as one of “The 28 Most Beautiful Towns in America,” as stated by Conde Nast Traveler. Even though the list was not ranked, writer Caitlin Morton had lavish praise for the town, stating:
Magnolia Springs exudes Southern charm with its oak tree-lined streets, historic churches, and welcoming community. Adding to its unique appeal, the town is among the few remaining in the United States that receive mail by riverboat, as it marks the beginning of the Magnolia River. For a truly authentic experience, stay at the Magnolia Springs Bed & Breakfast, constructed in 1897, where you can choose from one of the five charming rooms that still feature original stained glass and woodwork.
With a population of approximately 1,000 individuals, Magnolia Springs is in excellent company on the list. The list aims to guide travelers to “small communities brimming with amiable locals, downtown areas that are easily navigable and offer charming mom-and-pop eateries, cozy boutique hotels, and breathtaking vistas of some of the most stunning landscapes in the United States.”
Some of the top scenic spots across the country are included in the coast-to-coast list. These locations are well-known for their breathtaking views and stunning landscapes. Among these are Taos, New Mexico; Bar Harbor, Maine; Mackinac Island, Michigan; Carmel-by-the-Sea, California; Stowe, Vermont; Lake Placid, New York; Sedona, Arizona; Nantucket, Massachusetts; and several others.
Conde Nast Traveler has mentioned only one town in Alabama, which is Magnolia Springs. However, the list also includes charming Southern destinations like Jekyll Island in Georgia, Marfa in Texas, St. Augustine in Florida, and Beaufort in South Carolina.
Dating back to the 1800s, Magnolia Springs has been celebrated for its timeless allure, earning it a place on Architectural Digest’s 2022 compilation of “The 55 Most Beautiful Small Towns in America.” Southern Living has also acknowledged the town’s rich history, describing it as possessing “almost too much charm to handle.”
