According to a spokesperson from the Indiana State Police, the perpetrator responsible for the murder of a 17-year-old has been captured in Indiana. The suspect, who is originally from Ohio, is accused of fatally shooting the victim.
Indiana State Police received a notification from Ohio authorities on Saturday about a possible suspect traveling on the Indiana Toll Road.
A trooper in LaPorte County reported sighting a car that matched the provided description at approximately 9:57 a.m., as per the statement of a spokesperson.
As soon as the trooper caught sight of the suspect’s vehicle, they wasted no time in following it and confirming that it was the right car. With no delay, the trooper immediately called for backup to help in the pursuit.
Authorities stopped the driver near the 38-mile marker of the Indiana Toll Road, as confirmed by the spokesperson.
A 22-year-old male from Painesville, Ohio was arrested and taken into custody by LaPorte County Jail.
The Willoughby Police Department located in northeastern Ohio has announced that they will reveal the identity of the suspect involved in the fatal shooting as they continue their investigation. The suspect is anticipated to be arraigned in the near future.
