A woman’s routine ride home quickly turned into a terrifying ordeal when she was robbed at gunpoint by someone she knew.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s District 1 is investigating the incident, which occurred last Wednesday near Virginia & Eichelberger.

At around 2:30 p.m., the 24-year-old victim was getting a ride from a 27-year-old man when he unexpectedly passed her destination. This sudden detour made her nervous, prompting her to place her firearm under her arm for protection.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the suspect has been apprehended or if the stolen items, including the firearm, have been recovered.
