A woman driving in the wrong direction on the interstate, causing a collision with another vehicle, is facing charges of drunk driving.
The Gluckstadt Police Department reported that on Thursday, a woman was driving in the wrong direction on I-55 near the 114 mile marker.
Thadiesha Funchess, a woman who was going the wrong way, collided with another vehicle within the city limits of Canton.
Authorities successfully managed to bring the vehicle to a halt, and Funchess safely returned to the correct side of the interstate.
Police determined that she appeared intoxicated after making contact with her.
She was transported to the hospital with injuries that are currently unknown.
Funchess faces charges of DUI, careless driving, and driving without vehicle insurance.
