In April, three children made reports to the police accusing a 34-year-old woman of abusing them. As a result, the woman was arrested and charged with multiple counts of domestic battery towards a minor. The incident took place in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In a statement released on Monday, Cassandra Lanae Sparks was taken into custody on the grounds of River Crove Trail for committing two charges of domestic battery against a family member under 14, which is a Level 5 felony. Additionally, Sparks was charged with two counts of domestic battery in the presence of a minor under 16, a Level 6 felony, and one count of strangulation, also a Level 6 felony.
The Fort Wayne Police Department received a report from the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department in Ohio on April 24. The report was about three children who had reported physical abuse the previous day.
The injuries sustained by the children were captured in pictures.
According to the statements given to the police, the children reported experiencing abuse at a residence located on River Cove Trail in the 2600 block.
On Thursday, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant for Sparks’ arrest, and charges were subsequently filed. Sparks was taken into custody following the warrant’s execution.
