Video shows a home health care staff assaulting a 95-year-old New York City woman

Video footage captured a disturbing incident in Harlem where a 95-year-old woman was subjected to physical abuse by her home health care aide. The caregiver, who was meant to provide care and support, was instead caught on camera assaulting the elderly woman. This incident has raised serious concerns about the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable individuals who rely on home health care services.

According to Tiffany Mitchell, the granddaughter of the victim, a woman was shouting and hurling abusive language at her grandmother. She was also throwing water bottles, juice bottles, and cans at her, and then walking away before reappearing to do it again. Mitchell recalls that the woman seemed to be enjoying the act of throwing objects at her helpless grandmother.

“I was trying to fight back”

As they watched the situation unfold on their phones, the family felt a deep sense of helplessness and heartbreak.

Foye made an attempt to resist.

“She said she couldn’t fight back because she was too weak to take on the large woman,” was her statement.

According to Mitchell, the woman was struggling to maintain her balance as she stood up, relying on a walker for support. Her oxygen supply was also connected to her nose, highlighting her vulnerable state. Mitchell described her as being completely helpless, almost like an infant in need of constant care and attention.

On Sunday, Foye was subjected to a vicious attack that has left her body sore and her arm unable to lift.

Foye admitted that he wasn’t feeling great when he stated, “If I said I feel good, I’d be lying.”

However, she does have a few words for the home health care attendant.

A new aide from a different agency has been hired by the family.

At present, an internal investigation has been initiated by Medflyt at Home Health Care Agency while the police are also conducting their own investigation. As of now, there have been no arrests made regarding the matter.

Medflyt is also under scrutiny by the family, who is seeking action to be taken against the company.
