Authorities report that chaos erupted in a Manhattan coffee shop after a group chased someone inside and stabbed him. The NYPD is currently seeking four males who were seen fleeing the scene.
On Tuesday evening around 6 p.m., Milo Coffee Shop on Amsterdam Avenue was the scene of a violent incident that was captured by surveillance cameras. The footage shows a shirtless man stumbling into the coffee shop and heading towards the back. Another person, who seems to have been chasing him, stops at the door. Shortly after, a group of males enters the coffee shop and one of them stabs the shirtless man in the neck. The entire chain of events was caught on camera.
In a gripping surveillance footage, workers and a customer can be seen bravely defending themselves against a group of attackers. Armed with a knife, one of the assailants is pushed out of the shop as the employees and the customer wield chairs and fists. Amidst the chaos, two women working at the store quickly hopped over the counter, where a frightened child was hiding, in an attempt to seek help from a nearby business. Thanks to the swift and brave action of the workers, the attackers were eventually forced out of the shop.
On Wednesday, there was no new information on the condition of the victim who was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable condition. The victim is 39 years old.
