The New York Post’s report on the placement of migrant shelters in various zip codes in New York City has sparked a storm of emotions that shows no signs of abating. Community leaders and politicians in Queens are particularly outraged that their neighborhoods have been disproportionately affected, with 70 out of 193 migrant shelters being located in that borough alone. District 19 City Councilwoman, Vickie Paladino, has been one of the most vocal critics of the shelter plan and sanctuary city designation. During a recent appearance on 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning program, she did not hold back in expressing her displeasure.
During an interview with Berman and Riedel, Paladino expressed concern over the Venezuelan migrants, stating that they have become ruthless and are associating with gangs. According to Paladino, the problem lies in the fact that their actions are not considered as real crimes and they are quickly released back onto the streets. He likened this situation to third-world crime, which is currently out of control in the city.
Paladino didn’t hold back in her criticism, pointing fingers at President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for the city’s problems. She didn’t mince words, saying, “There is absolutely no place to lay this blame except at Biden’s feet, and now they’re talking about that cackling witch that we call our Vice President… She has never even been to the border. She really needs to just shut up, and I think everybody’s had it with her… and when he didn’t do his job at the border, (and) she’s never visited the border, we all ask ourselves now more than ever, who is running this country?”
