Recall for Popular Beverage in Texas Due to Serious Health Hazard

HP Hood LLC recalled five SKUs of 96 oz containers of LACTAID Milk on Saturday, September 20, due to allergic sensitivity linked to a potentially undiscovered contaminant.

The  United States Food & Drug Administration indicates that the specified items “may contain trace amounts of almond,” a component absent from their labeling. No illnesses have been observed; nevertheless, persons with an almond allergy have the potential for a significant or life-threatening allergic reaction.

Consumers can identify the recalled goods by looking for the code: 51-4109 P2 and the corresponding Best By Dates available on fda.gov. Products of concern were distributed in 27 states (shipped from September 9 to September 18), including retailers and wholesalers in Texas.

Consumers who previously acquired a recalled 96 oz container of LACTAID Milk may return the product to the point of purchase for a complete refund.
