Aerosmith, the iconic rock band, has unexpectedly announced the cancellation of the remaining “Peace Out” farewell tour dates, signaling their retirement from touring.
In a recent announcement, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame shared that Aerosmith’s lead singer, Steven Tyler, will not be able to fully recover from his vocal injury. As a result, the band members made a joint decision to not continue performing live together.
The band expressed their gratitude in a statement, acknowledging that it has been an honor for them to have their music become a part of their fans’ lives. They recognized that their music has been played in numerous clubs, on massive tours, and during both grand and private moments. The band members conveyed their appreciation for their fans’ unwavering support and for giving them a place in the soundtrack of their lives.
“As performers, our ultimate goal has always been to leave a lasting impression on our audience. Steven’s unique vocal range has been an integral part of our sound, and we know how hard he has worked to recover from his injury over the past few months. Despite the support of a world-class medical team, it has become evident that a complete recovery is not possible. As a band, we have made the difficult decision to retire from touring in solidarity with our brother.”
In September, Aerosmith was supposed to resume their final tour; however, they have made the difficult decision to cancel all of their shows. This includes a final concert at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, Upstate New York, which was scheduled for February 26, 2025. The band had only one other stop scheduled in New York, on February 23, at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

For over half a century, the renowned band, who have won multiple Grammys, had been playing together. The band is comprised of Tyler, Perry, Hamilton, Douglas, and Whitford, all of whom are in their 70s. However, the founding drummer, Joey Kramer, was not set to perform on the tour as he was prioritizing his “family and health.”
After just three shows, Aerosmith had to suspend and reschedule their farewell tour in early 2023 due to a severe injury to Tyler’s larynx. Despite the setback, the band remains determined to hit the road again and give their fans the farewell tour they deserve.
For decades, Aerosmith dominated the music scene with their popular hits such as “Dream On,” “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Crazy,” “Janie’s Got a Gun,” “Livin’ on the Edge” and the legendary collaboration with Run-DMC on “Walk This Way.” They even had their own “Guitar Hero” video game and performed on the grandest stages in the world, including the Super Bowl and the FIFA World Cup. Aerosmith was undoubtedly one of the biggest bands on the planet.
On Friday, Aerosmith expressed their gratitude to everyone who was enthusiastic about joining them for their last tour. They gave thanks to their skilled crew, incredible team, and the thousands of talented individuals who made their historic performances possible. The band also conveyed their appreciation to their fans, whom they consider to be the best on planet Earth. They encouraged their fans to continue playing their music loud and to always remember to dream on. Aerosmith concluded with a heartfelt message, acknowledging their fans’ role in making their dreams come true.
