U.S. Forest Service plans to hire 250 permanent firefighters for region

The U.S. Forest Service Rocky Mountain region is looking to recruit more than 250 permanent seasonal wildland firefighters.

The firefighters are responsible for handling fire emergencies in national forests and grasslands across Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming. There are various job openings available, such as engine operators, hotshot crew members, hand crew members, helitack crew members, air tanker technicians, air tanker base managers, fuels technicians, fire prevention specialists, assistant fire management officers, dispatchers, and other vital fire management roles.

The job opportunities are available to individuals who are at least 18 years old and are either U.S. citizens or nationals. You can submit your application for these positions from August 23 to September 4.
