Two women were apprehended on Monday evening after they allegedly led police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle.
The Rochester Police Department reported that the vehicle they were traveling in was allegedly robbed on South Avenue earlier that day. When officers later found the car on Lyell Avenue and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver opted to flee instead.
A patrol car, which was in pursuit, ultimately collided with another vehicle near St. Paul Street and Cumberland Street, resulting in the hospitalization of the driver of the car that was hit. Fortunately, the two officers inside the patrol car emerged unscathed.
The pursuit eventually led us to the East side of the city, where the driver finally came to a stop in the Trinidad parking lot of the Public Market.
Two female individuals, one aged 18 and the other aged 19, have been taken into custody by the authorities. It remains uncertain whether or not they had any involvement in the initial robbery. The ongoing investigation into this particular incident is still underway.
