Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan to Visit Texas This Week, Calls Himself ‘The Right Guy in Charge’

President-elect Donald Trump’s border enforcer, Tom Homan, is making his way to Texas in order to make preparations for his upcoming efforts to crack down on illegal border crossings.

Governor Greg Abbott of the Lone Star State announced that Homan will join him on a visit to inspect the Texas-Mexico border later this week.

Homan received high praise for his ability to secure the border and effectively deport illegal migrants.

During an interview on the “Cats Roundtable” 770 “WABC radio, Governor Abbott expressed his belief that President Trump faces a significant challenge in identifying and apprehending these individuals for deportation or imprisonment.

“We have the perfect person leading the charge. His name is Tom Homan, and he will be serving as the border czar. I have already started collaborating with him, and we will be meeting in Texas next week.”

Abbott expressed his enthusiasm for having a cooperative partner in addressing the crisis, as he has previously clashed with the outgoing Biden administration over their lax border policies and lack of cooperation with Texas.

An illegal migrant has been charged with committing the first ‘stranger rape’ in a town in over 12 years, just a few days after being released from jail.

“We used to have individuals who were opposed to Texas taking action to secure the border. However, now we have partners who are supportive. This means that Texas will be working together with the Trump administration,” Abbott declared.

“We will prioritize border security to ensure the safety of our nation. Additionally, we will take decisive action to eradicate the presence of dangerous criminals within our borders, thereby restoring peace and security to our communities.”

The governor emphasized that apprehending and expelling members of the Venezuelan prison gang, Tren de Aragua, will take precedence for both the Trump administration and Texas.

According to Governor Abbott, the Tren de Aragua gang members have been causing outbreaks not only in New York but also in Texas. He emphasized the need to put an end to the killings committed by individuals who entered the country illegally during Biden’s administration.

New York City closes down two additional migrant shelters, including one that provided housing for 400 families, as part of ongoing “resettlement efforts”.

Texas has officially designated Tren de Aragua as a terrorist organization.

Homan stated that his mission includes deporting the gang members.

During a recent interview, he became emotional while discussing the murder of Laken Riley by illegal migrant and Tren member Jose Ibarra. He expressed regret, stating that Ibarra should have never entered the country.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott stated on Sunday that they are taking aggressive measures to combat the Tren de Aragua gang. He emphasized that law enforcement at the federal, state, and local levels are actively working to apprehend its members. Governor Abbott proudly mentioned that hundreds of arrests have already been made and sent a strong message to the gang members, stating that if they are in Texas, they will be arrested and put behind bars.

For decades, Texas, a border state, has been at the forefront of dealing with illegal crossings.

When the crossings started to escalate two years ago, Abbott adopted a clever political tactic to alleviate the burden of dealing with the crisis. Thousands of migrants were transported by buses to urban centers in blue states, including New York City. This strategy, despite facing criticism, proved to be effective in pressuring Democratic mayors like Eric Adams to publicly criticize and urge President Biden to address the issue.

Texas authorities took action last week by installing additional buoy barriers along sections of the Rio Grande. The purpose of these barriers is to prevent illegal crossings, following the Biden administration’s unsuccessful lawsuit against the state regarding the floating barricades.

Abbott announced on Sunday that additional measures will be implemented to discourage border crossings. These measures include the deployment of more buoys, fencing, and walls.

In a recent interview with The Post, Homan discussed his plans to utilize the military in order to assist with the deportation of undocumented immigrants.

Homan, who acted as the director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Trump’s first term, plans to utilize servicemen to carry out “non-enforcement” tasks, like providing transportation. This strategy aims to free up ICE agents for field work.

He expressed his readiness to confront sanctuary cities and states like New York, where local law enforcement officers are prohibited from sharing information with federal authorities regarding immigration status.

The new border enforcer declared that sheltering undocumented immigrants is a criminal offense.

He warned, “Do not cross that line.”
