A remarkable woman from Pennsylvania aged 114, is now recognized as the oldest living person in North America.
Whitehead, a remarkable woman, was born in September 1910 on a farm in Georgia. Throughout her life, she never indulged in smoking or drinking alcohol. She has outlived her beloved husband and their three sons.
When it comes to her secret to a long and fulfilling life, Whitehead attributes it to her good genes and her passion for various activities. Cooking, baking, drawing, and listening to music are just a few of the things she enjoys, which have undoubtedly contributed to her longevity.
In a September 2023 interview with the  New Castle News, Whitehead expressed that she has not set a specific goal for her lifespan. However, she emphasized that she will cherish each day and live as long as the Lord grants her.
“Naomi’s story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of social wellness in aging gracefully. Her ability to forge meaningful relationships and actively participate in her community is truly inspiring,” shared a heartfelt Facebook post from St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that women in Georgia have a life expectancy of 77.1 years at birth. In comparison, women in Pennsylvania have a slightly higher life expectancy of 79.3 years, according to the same source.
