The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has raised the reward for information leading to the arrest of Miguel Angel Gomez to $8,500, intensifying efforts to capture the wanted fugitive. Gomez, 51, a Houston native on Texas’s 10 Most Wanted list, has been on the run since his 2022 murder charge in Harris County and a subsequent parole violation.
Gomez’s criminal record includes a 2009 conviction for sexually assaulting a minor, alongside other charges for violent offenses, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and multiple burglaries. DPS describes him as 5 feet 5 inches tall, approximately 150 pounds, with tattoos and scars on his face, neck, and forearms.
The reward, part of a broader DPS initiative to engage the public in fugitive apprehensions, is funded through Texas Crime Stoppers. Texas Crime Stoppers guarantees anonymity for tipsters via a unique identification system. Citizens with information can contact Crime Stoppers through a hotline, the DPS website, or a dedicated Facebook tip link.
