In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas declared that Fabian Toribio-Martinez, one of Texas’ most wanted illegal immigrants, has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals. The 25-year-old Mexican national was taken into custody for allegedly raping a child and possessing a controlled substance. Toribio-Martinez was apprehended at an apartment complex and is currently being held in Williamson County Jail.
On social media, Abbott expressed contentment with the arrest and also took a dig at the Biden administration, stating, “That is one more criminal the Biden-Harris Administration let into our country that is now behind bars & off our streets.”
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that Toribio-Martinez’s arrest was a result of outstanding warrants issued in January 2024 and October 2023 by Travis County. He had been previously deported in 2018 but illegally reentered the country and was arrested again in 2023 for drug possession and resisting arrest. Recently, in January, the Austin Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Back in early June, Governor Abbott and his team created the ’10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants’ list. The list offers cash rewards ranging from $5,000 to $3,000 to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest of these criminals.
According to Newsweek, the individuals on the list are all of Latino descent and have been accused of various crimes, including murder with a deadly weapon and aggravated sexual assault of a child. Shockingly, seven of them are even suspected of sexually assaulting children.
In the past, the governor accused the Biden administration of dismantling every effective border policy implemented by his predecessor. As a result, there have been record high levels of illegal immigration, including dangerous criminals and terrorists, posing a significant threat to the public safety of both our state and nation.
Ever since the list became public, the governor of Texas has been openly applauding each arrest made, even those of the two individuals who were apprehended in the last week of June.
