Tarrant County authorities say they arrested a mother for the second time in a month after she induced doctors to conduct needless medical operations on her child.
According to Tarrant County Sheriff’s investigators, Lisa Campbell-Goins convinced doctors that her small baby was malnourished and gave her an unnecessary gastric feeding tube. That’s what Munchausen syndrome by proxy is.
According to investigators, Campbell-Goins then set up a GoFundMe account to collect money. Allegations of child injury, exploitation, and unlawful restraint led to the arrest of the Brown County woman.
Detective Michael Weber of Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office says they are searching for “anyone who has given her money in any shape or form because of the victim’s health, and we think it’s important for those people to come forward.” While you may not think it’s significant to the case, we believe it is.
Tarrant County investigators arrested another lady last month on a similar child abuse complaint.
