New evidence in the ongoing investigation of 2Pac’s murder case has come to light. The evidence suggests that Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, who is considered the primary suspect, may have gone undercover to frame Bad Boy founder Diddy for the crime. The investigation is still ongoing in court.
According to prosecutors in a recent legal document, evidence suggests that the Compton native traveled from LA to New York with the police service back in 2009 with the intention of obtaining evidence that he could potentially use against both the Bad Boy mogul and Harlem kingpin Eric ‘Von Zip’ Martin.
Months after accusing Diddy of offering him $1 million to kill Suge Knight and 2Pac, Davis agreed to work undercover with the police. He claimed that he received half of the payment along with Von Zip and attempted to implicate the producer.
In 1997, following the tragic murder of Biggie Smalls in LA, Keefe D was tasked with operating as an “active confidential informant.” This came after he was caught trafficking a significant quantity of drugs and was subsequently enlisted as an undercover agent.
According to the 179-page document that has surfaced, Davis allegedly flew to New York to support the conspiracy to assassinate 2Pac. The prosecution claims that Davis met with Von Zip while he was “acting in an undercover capacity” and asked for a favor for his nephew.
The prosecution alleged that Keefe D attempted to involve Mr. Martin in drug trafficking upon his return. Despite Mr. Martin informing him that he was no longer involved in such activities, Keefe D was directed to conduct his drug-related affairs with Mr. Martin’s nephew.
The legal filing mentions Diddy 77 times, specifically in the transcript of Keefe D’s interview where he accused the mogul of offering a large sum of money for the deaths of 2Pac and Suge Knight.
There have been several rumours circulating in the hip-hop industry for years. One such rumour, which surfaced in 2021, was made by Diddy’s former bodyguard Gene Deal. He claimed that he had seen Von Zip carrying a $1 million meant for Keefe D. However, this story contradicts these rumours and provides a different perspective on the matter.
