Strong storms crossing Alabama leave over 29K customers without power

More than 29K customers without power as strong storms cross Alabama

As of 8 p.m. Friday, over 29,000 customers are still without power, according to PowerOutage.us.

Friday’s storms prompted the WVTM 13 team to label the day as an Impact Day.

At WVTM 13, “Impact Weather” denotes weather events that could significantly disrupt your daily life. This could mean heavy rain and storms or extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold.

This week’s Impact Weather includes both dangerously high temperatures and a risk of severe thunderstorms.
