The authorities have taken into custody the offspring of a former governor of Mississippi. The incident took place in Madison, and details are yet to be disclosed.
According to Madison police, 44-year-old Haley Reeves Barbour Jr. was apprehended on charges of trespassing on Thursday, June 6. The occurrence took place in a residential area of Madison.
Haley Barbour, who served as the Governor of Mississippi from 2004 to 2012, is the father of Barbour Jr.
Barbour Jr. appeared in Madison Municipal Court on Thursday afternoon and was granted a bond of $1,000. Following this, he was taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
According to The Clarion Ledger, this is not the initial run-in with legal problems for the ex-governor’s offspring. Barbour, Jr. has a previous conviction for a 2015 occurrence in Washington, involving simple assault.
