Social Media Star Receives Jail Time for Plotting Murder-for-Hire

Texan influencer Ashley Grayson is facing a 10-year prison sentence after she tried to hire someone to kill three individuals.

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Tennessee, Grayson, who is 35 years old, gained fame on social media for her online business and tutorials that aim to help individuals transform their skills into courses.

On Monday, November 18, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Tennessee district, Reagan Fondren, made an announcement declaring Grayson’s conviction in the murder-for-hire conspiracy case.

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s office, Grayson and her spouse, Joshua Grayson, were indicted in July 2023 on a charge of using an interstate facility in the commission of a murder-for-hire. On October 31, 2024, United States District Court Judge Thomas L. Parker sentenced Grayson to the maximum prison term of 120 months.

“This crime exemplifies the dark side of the twenty-first century, where online conflicts and petty rivalries spill over into the real world,” Fondren expressed in the press release. “The accused made an attempt to hire an individual to commit murder against a woman solely based on incidents that occurred in the online realm.”

According to him, “Thankfully, nobody suffered any physical injuries in this incident. However, the victim and her family were deeply affected emotionally due to the defendant’s actions. Thanks to the prompt actions of the investigating agencies and our prosecutors, a more serious crime was prevented from taking place.”
