A knife-wielding man attacked a woman at a bar just after two people were killed on the same Southwest Side block on Sunday night.
The crimes occurred on the 5300 block of South Kedzie Avenue in Gage Park, according to Chicago police.

Around 10 p.m., a 57-year-old man armed with a revolver and a knife approached a 37-year-old guy outside the “Just One More Sports Bar.”
The 37-year-old then entered the bar, and the suspect followed him in.
The offender made his way to the back of the bar and attacked a woman, causing many cuts to her body. She was transferred to Mt. Sinai Hospital and was listed in excellent health.
Officers arrived on the scene and arrested the 57-year-old male. They found a gun at the site.
According to police, no further injuries occurred. Detectives in the area are conducting an investigation.
Apartment shooting
Around that time, just before 10 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in an apartment on the same street, the 5300 block of South Kedzie Avenue.
Responding cops discovered a 63-year-old guy with a gunshot wound to the head and a 64-year-old lady with several injuries to her body. Police say both died at the scene.
An autopsy found that the victims, Richard M. Romo and Rita Chavez, died of several gunshot wounds and severe force injuries.
Detectives in the area are conducting an investigation.
One neighbor told FOX 32 that he knew the husband and wife well and described them as friendly and generous individuals.
What we don’t know: The connection between the stabbing and the double gunshot remained unclear.
However, when FOX 32 questioned if someone was under arrest in connection with all three stabbings, police said yes.
The identity of the apprehended individual has yet to be released by police.
What they’re saying: Witnesses claim the suspect went on a rampage.
“I was hoping for him not to come to me and shoot me. The only thing I thought of is running out the door,” a person said.
