A shooting incident occurred in Harrah on Wednesday morning, resulting in a man being taken to the hospital. Subsequently, a suspect has been apprehended by the authorities.
A man with gunshot wounds was discovered by police officers at around 8:07 a.m. in the vicinity of Northeast 10th Street and Luther Road, following a report of shots being fired.
The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to OU Health in Oklahoma City. Police have reported that the victim is currently in good condition.
Law enforcement is still investigating the crime scene after taking one person into custody.
According to Harrah Police Chief Marty Burns, the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still uncertain. However, he reassures the public that there is no danger posed to them.
According to Burns, the entire property is currently being treated as the crime scene. He mentioned that there are multiple outbuildings and residences on the property, and all of them will be thoroughly investigated. Burns also stated that one of the properties has a significant number of individuals living on it, indicating that there may not be any family involvement. However, he clarified that these individuals are acquaintances who reside on the property.
The police also examined two vehicles positioned in front of the property. Among them was a Chevrolet Malibu, which they suspect was the vehicle in which the victim received two gunshot wounds.
The officers dedicated several hours to interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence in order to ascertain the sequence of events.
