Police Apprehend Alleged Thumb Region Drug Traffickers In Imlay City

A Michigan State Police drug task force apprehended two Detroit-area men last week following an investigation into illegal drug trafficking in the Thumb.

The Thumb Narcotics Unit arrested Mantwan S. Gladney, 28, of Detroit, and Steven G. Jackson, 31, of St. Clair Shores, during a traffic check in Imlay City on Thursday.

Following the traffic stop, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Macomb County. They discovered more illegal substances and a stolen firearm there.

Authorities accuse both males of selling methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl in the thumb area. On Friday, authorities charged them with one count of distributing or manufacturing a controlled drug.

Gladney and Jackson remained in prison at the Lapeer County Jail following their arraignment on $100,000 bonds each. They will return to court on August 19.
