Hannibal contractor arrested for home repair fraud in Hull after Pike County investigation

A contractor from Hannibal, Missouri, was arrested for home repair fraud in Hull, Illinois, following an investigation led by Pike County, Illinois.

On November 12, Chief Deputy Zack Orr, while working in Hull, received a report of home repair fraud. The victim claimed she had paid a significant sum to a contractor for repairs to her home in July 2024. However, the work was never completed, and the contractor had not reimbursed her.

Orr launched a criminal investigation, which led to the execution of court-authorized search warrants for financial records. He then applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for aggravated home repair fraud.

On November 27, Gary L. Haynes, 47, from Hannibal, Missouri, was arrested by the Hannibal Police Department under a Pike County, Illinois, arrest warrant.
