Pennsylvania Man Killed In Collision That Split Vehicle In Half

A tragic accident in eastern Berks County claimed the life of a man from Reading on Friday morning. The collision involved two vehicles and resulted in the loss of the individual’s life.

The victim has been identified as Tulio Espinoza Canales, a 36-year-old resident of Reading, according to State Police at Reading.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Friday in the Maxatawny Township, west of Kutztown borough, specifically at 15380 Kutztown Road (U.S. Route 222), according to troopers.

Espinoza Canales drove his 1999 Honda CRV northbound on U.S. 222. He made the decision to enter the southbound lane in order to overtake a vehicle that was ahead of him.

A Staten Island man driving a tractor trailer collided with the vehicles while heading southbound.

The Troopers reported that the Honda was split in half, resulting in Espinoza Canales being ejected from the vehicle.

The authorities declared him deceased on the spot.

Fortunately, the driver of the truck emerged from the accident unharmed.
