Our wedding was saved at the last minute by an unexpected hero after our caterer bailed just hours before

Just a few hours before their wedding, a couple was faced with a major problem. Luckily, a restaurant was there to save the day.

As the couple, Immie Teed and Josh Titmouth, were preparing to tie the knot in Exmouth, England, an unexpected turn of events occurred.

On the day of their wedding, the caterer they had hired for their 110 guests fell ill with E. coli and was unable to fulfill his duties. Unfortunately, this led to him canceling on them just hours before the wedding.

According to SWNS, Teed shared that as soon as she and her future husband arrived at the wedding venue, they received a call from the caterer informing them of the cancellation.

Teed recalled her new husband’s response to the caterer, in which he expressed his familiarity with Josh and stated, “If this is a joke, it’s not funny.”

As I was preparing for my wedding, I decided to take on the task of sending out all the invitations myself. I wanted to add a personal touch to each envelope and thought it would be a fun project. However, I soon realized that licking hundreds of envelopes was not as fun as I had anticipated.

After a while, my tongue became numb and I started to feel a bit queasy. I decided to take a break and looked up how many calories I had burned from this task. To my surprise, I found out that I had actually consumed around 1,000 calories from all the adhesive on the envelopes.

I couldn’t believe it! I had unknowingly added an extra meal’s worth of calories to my day just by licking envelopes. From that point on, I decided to switch to using a wet sponge to seal the envelopes instead.

According to the caterer, he had been experiencing illness for a few days prior to the wedding, but unfortunately, he was unable to get up from bed on the day of the event.

As the wedding time drew closer, Teed and the rest of the guests scrambled to find a fast solution to feed their 110 guests.

Teed shared that one of their bridesmaids generously offered to prepare a large quantity of curry for their wedding celebration. Although, Teed’s mother also considered contacting a nearby restaurant for assistance.

Traveling 1,700 miles for a destination wedding was an exciting prospect for me, but my enthusiasm quickly turned into disappointment when I realized that I had arrived a year too early. Despite my meticulous planning and double-checking of dates, I had managed to mix up the year, and it was a huge mistake on my part.

The couple, their families, and the other guests were all there, but the wedding wasn’t scheduled until the following year. I felt embarrassed and mortified, but the couple was gracious enough to still show me around the area and make the most of my visit.

Lesson learned – always triple-check important dates and details, no matter how confident you are in your planning. It’s better to be safe than sorry and avoid any mishaps like mine.

According to SWNS, the person mentioned that their mother came up with the idea to reach out to Krispies. They expressed their admiration for the quality of food offered by Krispies and their trustworthiness.

Krispies takes great care in sourcing all of their ingredients, ensuring that their fish comes from sustainable stocks, their fries are hand-cut daily, and all of their food is cooked fresh to order. As stated on their website, they approach their sourcing with meticulous care to ensure the highest quality ingredients are used in their dishes.

Kelly Barnes, the owner of the nearby shop, drove to the wedding venue, which was just a 10-minute drive away, to explore how she could lend a hand.

According to SWNS, Barnes mentioned that the bride was extremely upset and distressed. Barnes realized that she had to come up with a solution to ease the bride’s worries.

Barnes successfully delivered 110 meals in time for the wedding after delegating the task to her staff. The meals mainly consisted of fish and fries.

The wedding menu also featured a variety of options to cater to all guests’ dietary preferences. For the little ones, there were delicious chicken nuggets, while the vegetarian guests enjoyed a scrumptious veggie burger accompanied by crispy fries.

SWNS spoke with Barnes, who expressed her admiration for her team, stating that “they were amazing, and some even stayed on after their shift had ended to help.”

According to Teed, the guests thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and she expressed her gratitude towards the individual who helped save the day.
