Oklahoma woman receives presidential pardon

President Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter grabbed major headlines, particularly since he had previously vowed not to do so.

While the other pardons he issued on Thursday didn’t draw as much attention, one individual from Oklahoma made the list.

The president pardoned Shannan Rae Faulkner, a woman from Muldrow, who the White House stated had pleaded guilty to a non-violent drug offense.

Faulkner, who has already completed her sentence, now serves as a counselor and recovery coach for women who have experienced trauma, as well as individuals with disabilities, according to the White House.

At 56, she volunteers with organizations focused on preventing sexual assault and domestic violence, and supports local charities, the Biden Administration shared.

“Colleagues attest to her inspirational character, her integrity, and the remarkable impact she makes on the lives of those she helps,” the White House said in a statement.
