COLUMBUS, OH (WLIO) – Ohio residents will need to decide if they want to change the way political district maps are drawn.
The statewide ballot initiative by “Citizens Not Politicians” seeks voter approval to establish a citizen-led board responsible for drawing the boundaries for the Ohio House, Senate, and U.S. congressional districts. This would replace the current Ohio Redistricting Commission, which consists of state-elected officials. The Ohio Secretary of State’s Office has certified the 535,000 petition signatures required to place the issue on the November 5th ballot.
