Ohio Man arrested for active warrant charged with dealing cocaine after swallowing drugs he pulled out of his rectum.
On March 20, 2025, an officer from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department patrolled SB I-65 in Lake County. A traffic stop revealed the motorist’s active Ohio warrant. The officer then arrested the driver, Ernest Cargile Jr., and took him to the Lake County Jail.
During the jail booking process, an officer found an object in Cargile’s rectum. Cargile then dashed from the booking area into the sally port. He swallowed an object after taking it out of his rectum. At this point, they transferred him to a nearby hospital. When the medical professionals arrived, they performed a medical procedure for Cargile’s safety, which involved removing the object from his body and having it retrieved by an officer. Cargile was notified of his rights, and he admitted that the object contained cocaine.
Court filings state that the material in the object weighed 92.9 grams and tested positive for cocaine. The officer stated that this amount of cocaine is deemed per se possession with the intent to deliver under Indiana law.
Ernest Cargile Jr. faced charges on March 21, 2025.
Possession with intent to deliver cocaine: F2 felony.
