The suspect’s bike ride down the sidewalk was captured in surveillance photos and video released by the NYPD on Monday.
At around 3 p.m., near Colden Street and Kalmia Avenue, the suspect encountered the teens on a field in Kissena Park. According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, the suspect instructed the teens to follow him into the woods.
Kenny silenced the kids with a rude command of “shut up” when they refused to comply.
According to Kendall, the perpetrator confiscated their phones and instructed them to remain in the vicinity for 20 minutes before departing.
After school, a group of classmates headed to the park to play soccer. However, their fun day ended abruptly when they became victims of an unfortunate incident. Upon returning to school, they reported the incident to the authorities. Responding quickly, multiple agents arrived at the scene within minutes. During the investigation, law enforcement discovered a shoelace and the suspect’s water bottle. As of Friday, the NYPD’s Crime Scene Unit continued to scour the park for further evidence.
According to Kenny, forensic experts are currently examining a shoelace that was discovered at the scene of the crime, which may have been used to bind the children’s hands. Additionally, a water bottle left behind by the perpetrator is also being scrutinized for potential evidence.
According to Kaz Daughtry, the Deputy Commissioner of the NYPD, the authorities conducted a search of the vicinity using two drones and also set up cameras in the park.
According to Daughtry, the team will persistently search for the monster until they apprehend it.
The NYPD has requested residents in the vicinity to review their home security systems. Meanwhile, they are scouring through surveillance footage from nearby stores. If you can assist the police in their investigation, they are willing to compensate you with a sum of up to $10,000.
