Houston, TX — A Harris County magistrate revealed disturbing details during a Sunday probable cause hearing regarding the tragic killing of a Spring Branch ISD Police Department dispatcher. Antonio Guzman, 22, stands accused of fatally shooting his uncle by marriage, 33-year-old Jose Torres, citing feelings of being “unloved and unwelcome” as the motive behind the crime.
Guzman, who Torres and his wife had been raising as their own son for the previous six years, allegedly confessed to police that he had shot Torres numerous times in the face and upper body. After failing to pick them up from work and school, Torres’ wife and children discovered the victim at his house where the fatal incident took place.
“[They] found him on the floor, bloody, lifeless, and cold,” the magistrate disclosed. “Guzman confessed to going to the house and committing the act because he felt unloved and unwelcome by Torres.”
