Sheriff Ed Gonzalez revealed that the suspect is Torres’ nephew. SWAT officers from the Houston Police Department detained the man on Saturday in the 7200 block of Fairbanks N. Houston.

According to investigators, Torres had been working in his yard before being confronted and fatally shot. Authorities also noted that items were missing from the home, suggesting a potential motive beyond the apparent family dispute.

This tragic incident has left the family in shock as they process the loss of a loved one, and the case remains under investigation.
