According to Nathan Wade, a former special prosecutor, Georgia will still pursue a trial against former President Donald Trump even if he wins the 2024 election.
During an interview with CNN on Wednesday, Wade expressed his belief that he thinks it is possible for him to run for president. However, he also acknowledged that the idea may not appear favorable to the rest of the world. He confidently stated that there are no barriers that would prevent him from pursuing this path.
If Trump wins re-election, Wade anticipates that prosecutors and defense attorneys will face an unprecedented scenario.
In March, Wade stepped down from the Georgia election interference case after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
Willis has filed a motion with the Georgia Court of Appeals requesting the dismissal of Trump’s appeal of Judge Scott McAfee’s order that permitted her to remain on the case. According to Willis, the appeal lacks sufficient evidence to support it.

According to Wade, this prosecution is solely based on the rule of law and has nothing to do with the voters’ opinions on the indictment’s propriety.
The appeals court is set to hear arguments on October 4th regarding the Willis ruling, provided that it does not grant his latest motion.
