Mystery Death in North Houston: Woman Found Shot in the Street

Neighbor coming home from work finds woman’s body in middle of street

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a woman found shot in the middle of a  north Houston street on Sunday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., police responded to a call reporting a “person down” near the intersection of McClelland Street and Chase Street, close to Hardly Toll Road and East Crosstimbers. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a woman in her mid-50s, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

A neighbor returning home from work discovered the victim’s body, though the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unknown. At this time, police are still piecing together the events that occurred before the discovery.
