Woman with five children may face lifelong disability after assault following night out

“As a mother, my own happiness is intertwined with the well-being of my daughter. When she is in high spirits, it brings me immense joy and contentment,” Fortner expressed.

Javoni Fortner, a mother of five, is also juggling two jobs.

On September 29, she treated herself to a paint and sip event as a way to prioritize self-care.

Javoni Fortner decided to take a rideshare back to her home.

Shameka Fortner received a call about her daughter around 9:30 p.m. on that same day.

Javoni Fortner was believed to have been attacked with a club or bat, according to the police. It is suspected that the perpetrator may have escaped in a black sedan.

Javoni Fortner, who suffered severe injuries, is now seeking witnesses to come forward, according to her mother.

The family suspects that the attacker was someone Javoni Fortner knew, even though they did not see the person responsible.

Shameka Fortner is of the belief that the suspect could potentially be someone her daughter had turned down. Additionally, she has expressed her belief that her daughter had taken measures to protect herself during the incident.

“The capture of this individual should be our utmost priority; there’s no telling how many times he has committed such acts,” emphasized Shameka Fortner.

They expressed their gratitude to the individual who discovered Javoni Fortner and promptly contacted emergency services.
