Missouri has yet to experience a significant and prolonged cold snap this Fall. However, the National Weather Service is now cautioning that a perilously cold weather is on its way to Missouri, and residents won’t have to wait long before feeling its icy grip.

Today, the National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri shared a fascinating story that goes beyond the usual Thanksgiving celebrations. They shed light on what the state can expect after the holiday.

Missouri is bracing for a potentially hazardous cold spell that is set to sweep across the state from November 29 onwards, according to the 8 to 14 day extended outlook.

According to the weather service, there is a strong likelihood (70 to 80% chance) that you will need to take precautions to safeguard your plumbing and dress in layers from November 29 to December 5. It’s not just going to be colder temperatures compared to the relatively mild weather we’ve been having, but significantly lower temperatures than what is typical for late November and early December.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, the NOAA Climate Prediction Center shares their forecast of much below normal temperatures for the next 8 to 14 days, spanning from late November to early December.
