Deputies are searching for a Mississippi man accused of stealing mail and cashing thousands of dollars’ worth of checks at multiple banks in Walker.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for Jonathan Wesley Robertson, who is accused of washing checks and cashing them for around $18,000 at Walker area banks.
The LPSO’s Financial Crimes Unit launched the investigation after receiving many reports of mail theft in the area. According to detectives, Robertson was operating in Livingston Parish between February 11 and March 7.
Investigators asserted that they linked the checks to the same theft and concluded that he was the fraudster.
Deputies suspect that Robertson is in the Baton Rouge area.
