Elizabeth Heggestad recounts how her husband made the journey to Carthage. She shares, “It took her a moment to recognize my husband, but after he gave her a few commands and checked for specific scars, we knew. She immediately started playing with him and hasn’t left his side since!”
The family expresses their gratitude to the Carthage MO Humane Society, stating, “We are so absolutely grateful for your facility and the help you provided in reuniting us with our baby girl! We never gave up because we knew our sassy girl wouldn’t give up either! We are incredibly thankful for everything you have done to assist us!”
The precise details of how ‘Elaine’ made her way to Carthage after disappearing from her family in Texas remain unknown. We are currently investigating the matter. Nevertheless, the story does have a happy ending!
